When do roses bloom in London?
The rose (and, specifically, the Tudor Rose) is England’s national flower, and you can spot them in season throughout London during the months of June and July.
The weather impacts how roses bloom: excessive rain and wind can damage the flowers and increase the risk of fungal diseases that shorten the season. Conversely, roses love sunny conditions, so warmer spring weather can lead to earlier blooms.
Having this in mind, you can usually expect to see roses in London between late-May and July, but some varieties might bloom well into October.
London rose season 2026 forecast
Due to a spell of sunny weather this spring, roses are likely to make an early appearance from late-May and early June.

How long do rose blooms last in London?
Keeping in mind that certain rose varieties can bloom at different times, it is possible to see roses in London anywhere between mid-May and October.
Depending on the variety, rose blooms can last from 14 days to several weeks. Because gardens in London usually plant more than one variety, you can often see roses in bloom throughout the summer. It also means that you may find roses starting to flower in some areas where others have already finished.
Please do remember that some rose bush locations are in quiet residential areas and, as such, you should respect the people who live there. Please admire the flowers and take photos without trespassing into private property or blocking the pavement and roads.
