When can you see wisteria in London?
As one of the most popular blossom seasons in London, wisteria usually blooms in the months of April and May.
The weather impacts when wisteria blooms: cold snaps can delay the flowers, while warmer-than-usual spring weather can result in earlier blossoms, but the leaves may burn quicker.
Having this in mind, you can usually expect to see wisteria between mid-April and mid-May in London.
London wisteria season 2025 forecast
Due to a spell of sunny weather this spring, wisteria are making an early appearance from mid-April and should last until the first week of May.

How long does wisteria last in London?
Keeping in mind that wisteria can bloom at different times (depending on their orientation, sun exposure, and the weather), it is possible to see wisteria in London anywhere between mid-April and mid-May.
Once wisteria blooms, it can last for 2-3 weeks. Depending on the weather, this period can be shorter or longer, but it also means you may find wisteria starting to flower in some streets when others have already finished.
Please do remember that some wisteria locations are in quiet residential areas and, as such, you should respect the people who live there. Please admire the flowers and take photos without trespassing into private property or blocking the pavement and roads.

Where to see wisteria in London?
Fortunately, London has no shortage of wisterias to hunt during this season. Springtime, albeit usually chilly but with more frequent and longer sunny hours, is also the perfect time to go for blossom-hunting walks in the city!
The majority of wisteria blossoms are in West London, between Notting Hill, Kensington, and Chelsea. However, many popular wisteria spots spread across the city – including Peckham Rye Park, Kew Gardens, and the famous Fullers Griffin Brewery in Chiswick, which proudly claims to have Britain’s oldest wisteria, planted over 200 years ago!
I created the below map with all the best places to see wisteria in London, including popular locations and hidden gems alike!
If you want to spot various flowers at once, one of the best places to admire wisteria in London is Kew Gardens. You can spot wisteria near the Secluded Garden, as well as many other plants and flowers like cherry blossoms, magnolias, tulips, orchids, bluebells, and more, depending when you go.
Is wisteria poisonous to cats and dogs?
Please make sure to keep an eye on your pets if you take them with you to admire wisteria in parks. Wisteria is toxic to cats and dogs, if ingested.
