When can you see lavender fields near London?
Lavender fields are synonym with summer, and its peak blooming season is in July.
The weather plays an important role – warmer weather can result in an earlier blooming season, while colder weather can delay it.
Having this in mind, you can usually visit lavender fields near London between mid-June and August.
London lavender season 2026 forecast
In 2026, most lavender farms near London will open their visits for early blooms from 19th of June, with the season lasting until 9th of August. Peak lavender season is in July, when most lavender farms will be open!
How long do lavender fields last?
Depending on the weather, it is possible to visit lavender fields near London anywhere between late-June and August.
Once lavender blooms, it can last for 3-4 weeks, giving you plenty of opportunity to pay a visit to the fields over the summer!
Depending on the weather and variety, some lavender fields can bloom for longer.
If you visit a pick-your-own lavender farm, you can expect your cut lavender to last 1-2 weeks in a vase at home. Afterwards, you can dry it to keep its fragrance.
Where to see lavender fields near London?
While the largest lavender fields are located outside of London’s city centre, lavender is also planted in some London parks and green spaces.
Kennington Park and Vauxhall Park are some of the gardens with lavender in the city.
Kew Gardens usually also has an impressive lavender display that you can visit, among its vast grounds boasting all kinds of blooming flowers and plants that are well worth for a day out in the summer.

Are there lavender fields in London?
While you can spot lavender in some of the city’s parks and gardens, you must venture outside London’s city centre to find the much-desired long and vibrant lavender fields.
Usually, these are private farms that open their fields to the public for a fee. Some of the most popular lavender farms near London are Hitchin Lavender, Mayfield Lavender Farm, and Castle Farm – which is the largest lavender farm in the UK.
