What is ShopMy?

ShopMy is an affiliate platform and digital storefront similar to LTK, but with one major benefit that I really like – on ShopMy, you can recommend any products you like, regardless if they’re eligible for commission or not.

This means that you can neatly link and organise all your exact favourite product recommendations into a digital storefront. Then, when someone purchases a commissionable product, you earn a percentage of the sale. You can also create and share direct affiliate links with your audience on social media or on your blog or newsletter.

ShopMy is available internationally across the US, UK, Canada, and Australia.

Once accepted into ShopMy, you can earn Tier points from your activities, which unlock gifting and paid opportunities with brands inside the platform!

What brands are on ShopMy?

You can link any product from any brand/retailer on ShopMy across any niche (fashion, home decor, travel, technology, etc.), even if they are not eligible for commission.

As a travel blogger, I can confirm that most popular brands associated with travel gear and gadgets are commissionable on ShopMy – from Osprey, The North Face, Uniqlo, and AWAY, to general retailers like Nordstrom, Target, Boots, and Selfridges. If you have an Amazon Affiliate ID, you can also add it to ShopMy and earn commission from recommending Amazon products.

This means you can earn affiliate commissions from a wide variety of products in the travel niche like luggage, gadgets, cameras, clothing, and accessories.

How do I get approved for ShopMy as a travel blogger?

While technically anyone can have a ShopMy account, applying for an account is subject to a review process of your social media profiles (and website, if applicable) on a case-by-case basis. ShopMy is available to creators and bloggers from all niches.

To get accepted, ShopMy normally requires that you have a minimum of 1,000 followers, and evidence that you are already sharing products with an engaged audience and/or working with brands. The review and approval process can take up to 5 business days or longer.

Generally, you can get accepted quicker into the platform by joining ShopMy using a referral link (click this link to use mine!).

How travel bloggers and content creators can make money on ShopMy

Now onto my favourite part: how can travel bloggers and content creators like you and me make money using ShopMy on our platforms?

1) Sharing your ShopMy storefront

This is the easiest first step to potentially earn money on ShopMy – link your ShopMy storefront to your social media link in bio so that it’s always available for viewers to find and purchase from it!

To make the most out of your ShopMy storefront, make sure to create links to your favourite products recommendations and organise them into sections and collections, so that visitors can easily browse through.

You can then tell your viewers that they can find the products mentioned in your content in your link in bio, or share your ShopMy storefront link directly with people via stories or using DM automation services like ManyChat (I’ll cover this better in the next section, as it’s my favourite way to earn from affiliate links on social media).

2) Sharing direct affiliate links on social media

As we know, platforms like Instagram don’t pay for our content’s reach. So, my favourite way to monetise my content is by redirecting my viewers to direct affiliate links that they can purchase from. I already do this with links for activity and hotel providers such as GetYourGuide and Stay22 – but with ShopMy, I can also share links to travel gear and accessories, tech gadgets, and clothing!

You can share affiliate links directly in your Instagram stories, saved in your story highlights, to your private channels, or via DMs. My favourite way to automate this is by using ManyChat to create a prompt for each post (ie. “Comment X and I’ll send you the link for this product“) and then adding my ShopMy affiliate links to the automated DM.

It makes the link-sharing process painless and instantaneous for both you and the viewer (since we can’t add clickable links under Instagram comments or captions).

Tip: if you join ManyChat with my referral link, you’ll get your first month for FREE!

3) Sharing direct affiliate links in blog posts

Additionally to social media, travel bloggers can also integrate ShopMy affiliate links into existing or new blog posts.

My favourite posts to integrate ShopMy affiliate links are packing lists and product reviews/comparisons. This kind of blog posts are specifically searched and viewed by readers actively ready to make a purchase, which increases your chances of converting affiliate links into sales!

4) Sharing affiliate links in newsletters and digital products

For advanced bloggers with an active newsletter and/or digital products (or newsletter freebies), adding direct affiliate links from ShopMy is a great way to monetise these channels further.

Tip: Consider adding a ‘product highlight‘ section to your newsletter, or integrating affiliate links into digital guides or newsletter freebies.

FAQ: ShopMy for Travel Bloggers and Creators

Yes! Generally, you are allowed to use your own ShopMy links for your own purchases.

However, some brand programs exclude creator self-purchases, so you may not earn commission from those transactions.

Each brand/retailer has its own commission rate on ShopMy, with most ranging between 5-15%. However, some retailers have specific program rules with varying commission rates for specific products, or specific product exclusions that won’t earn commission (for example, for gift card purchases).

If a brand/retailer isn’t available on ShopMy, you won’t earn any commission from related purchases, but you can still link its products and include them in your shopfront.

You’ll need to link a PayPal or Stripe account to get paid on ShopMy. Once you hit the minimum threshold of USD $11 in confirmed earnings, you’ll be able to receive weekly payouts.

For a sale to be considered confirmed, it needs to move out from its pending status, which can take between 30-120 days, depending on the specific retailer’s return window. Once this window closes, the commission earnings will move into locked status, and become available for payout.

As long you have a minimum amount of USD $11 in confirmed earnings, you’ll be able to receive weekly payouts on ShopMy (processed every Friday).

However, please note that in order for a sale to become confirmed, it needs to have passed the retailer’s return window (which, depending on the retailer, can be between 30-120 days).
